Based on the children’s book Pete and Pickles by Berkeley Breathed, it’s about a pig hunter named Hitpig (Jason Sudeikis) who returns escaped animals to their owners. The title doesn’t immediately make sense; a pig doesn’t kill anyone like a female hunter. It should probably be called something like PETE THE BOUNTY HUNTER or PETE AND PICKLES. It’s literally called Hitpig. On his way he meets Pickle (Lily Singh), the elephant who escaped from the evil and arrogant Leaping. The bodysuit master (Rain Wilson). They form a bond that makes Hitpig question his career and his life. This movie is awesome. I can tell it wasn’t set out in my head. The humor is everywhere, sometimes it aims low for the kids, sometimes it aims high. Lots of ass jokes. The story moves a mile a minute, sometimes literally, leaving you breathless. The characters all speak fast, but I was happy to hear Hannah Gadsby as Sassy Koala. The movie feels low budget and I’m surprised it actually made it to theaters. There are some great scenes about the family you choose. Hitipig! Unless you have a child with ADHD who loves loud noises and bright colors, I imagine it’s a pretty good movie, but instantly forgettable and not worth the money.
